PN WOAH...

ahhhh the goodness of palmy.. i went home on saturday after work to spend the night with my nana. it's her birthday today, but i had to work so the best i could offer her was having me over for the weekend. i did plan to take her out for tea and for brunch on sunday morning but she was totally not interested! lolz i had to COOK! jeez! but i did it and i made a little old lady happy.

it reminded me that the people you once thought would be around forever, actually aren't. it made me sad to think that she was all alone in her big house next to drug dealers. (like, actually. he's a dealer).

when i first arrived all i could do was mock what i considered to be "junk" around the house and i was itching to throw crap out and re-arrange everything to be more spacious and easy to move around. then it hit me. it wasn't my place to do that. i mean seriously, how pissed would i be if someone came to my flat and did that to my stuff? how rude was i for even thinking that all her stuff was junk? i decided that i'd leave it because in all honesty compared to having 'not alot' growing up in samoa, her house is her castle.. i had no right what-so-ever in touching anything. i can't believe it's taken me lik, 25yrs to finally come to that realization. i mean, my nana has been telling me off for that for as long as i can remember! haha!

but anywho, i spent 25hrs away from wellington and i really couldn't wait to go back. in all honesty, i think it was the freedom to do whatever i wanted whenever i wanted that i missed the most. i did however, manage to 'sort of' ask permission to use her car to go and visit my friend who had a baby shower that day & drop off her present. (on a side note: OMG how expensive is palmers no stretch marks tummy butter?!). i must get my license! i'm so naughty for driving around without one. i miss driving.

this youtube clip reminded me of how much (at times) i actually miss palmy. especially the price of living compared to here & the plaza (like actually!!)

randomness:

- welsh dude moved out on sunday leaving this note on the white board: "guys & girls, it's been emotional. good luck for exams etc." (like seriously WTF? who writes that?!)

- new flat mate, canadian dude moved in on sunday. i'm pretty sure he's a self made millionaire aaaaand also a stoner & low-key alchy that's just bumming around the world because he can.

big week ahead:

- the girls arrived from samoa yesterday & are here for 10 days

- ghetto booty arrives from auckland this thursday and is here until sunday

- friendboy's dad arrives from samoa on thursday after being away since june

- mumzy comes down for the day on saturday to get her haircut at buoy

hmmm that's all i can think of for now..

have a great week y'all.

AFTER WORK..

i love walking through the station at night. it's such a contrast from when i'm heading to work and everyone is pushing and shoving to get their trains and buses home. the quietness isn't creepy but peaceful.

NOTHING LIKE...

NZ music!

seriously, nowhere in the world does it like us. (well HELLO it wouldn't be "NZ music" if it was made somewhere else would it?!) nothing like a good dose of kiwi artists to clear out the lungs, open up the eyes and brighten up your day. crowded house, to che-fu, to goodshirt to herbs, it makes me feel like a patriotic mo' fo' every time it penetrates my ear drums. (haha i said "penetrate") even j-skywalkers favourite band *ahem* elemno p... dahahahahaha!!!

i've posted this song before, but it's currently playing on the radio here in samoa. the end.

CHRISTMAS AT THE BEACH...

had a gorgeous christmas lunch in the sun, these random photos were taken in wellyz (oriental parade) on boxing day. you can tell that 4 years of studying photography was put into good use composition wise HAHAHAHAHA!!! i was staggering along after a huge lunch @ parade cafe, not to mention i was wearing all black (totally inappropriate lolz)

i can't ever imagine having a white christmas. why would you want to when the weather is this good? pohutukawa's in full bloom is so pretty. i'm stoked it's all over though. i really hate christmas lolz i can't stand when adults ask "was santa good to you this christmas?" it makes me wanna spew in my own mouth. why the hell would i want a strange white man in a red suit in my house giving me gifts?! hahaha i was never bought up to believe in santa. my family were like, hellz no are we giving someone else credit for all the cool stuff we bought you hahahahahaha.

i reckon christmas is more for little kiddies, which i'm ok with. but for adults? it's just a time to get into debt haha. (not that i did, since i had no job for the first time, so that was my excuse to not give gifts) i didn't even have any art work to give away. unless people wanted essays on postmordernism and how it affects my personal practice. that would be lovely summer reading... (or good to fuel the bon-fire haha)

and then comes new years. i'm not going to the bay anymore, 'coz i can't get back for my flight so i'm staying here. GAYBO! i vowed last year after being a dutiful granddaughter and having a quiet one with my nana (it was the first for her without my granddad) that i'd never spend another new years of my life at home. and HELLO, that's exactly where i'll be. oh well, i'll just go to bed early to get it over and done with haha.

i don't really care. i'm going to VIET-freakin'-NAM on the 3rd of jan, with a week in india during january and a week in bangkok (my fave city in the world) in feb, and then back with money in the baaaaaaaank, for kings of leon in march. yusssss!
